The Photography of Joseph Szabo

You've all seen that photo. It's been used for who-knows how many tumblr posts and angsty teen blogs, and well fittingly. Joseph Szabo has spent his life document just that, the teenage years, in film. His photos manage to actually capture more than the usual stereotypical teenage attitude.

SO what we are trying to say is, the man takes a damn fine shot. Recently, New York Times Lightbox covered and celebrated Szabo's life. Below is a selection of our favourite and damn fine shots.

Night Owls, 1971

Chris on Sr. Day, 1977

The Kiss, 1977

Anthony and Terry B, 1977

Friday Night Dance, 1973

All images from lightbox, and go and flick through the rest of them!
